My hairbows

After spending a rediculous amount of money on hairbows for my girls, I decided to make them myself. I really have no experience making bows, but I thought "How hard could it be?". I bought a few different types of ribbon to begin experimenting with. Here are the ones I've made so far, in order of creation. The pink and brown one is my favorite one so far!

I know, I know, I know. I'm a slacker!

It has been a long time since I've updated here. I haven't been able to find much computer time except for talking to my JJJ's. I can't even think of everything that's happened since I posted.

• I've been on a mission to lose all the pregnancy weight that has piled up after having all these kids. In the past couple months I've lost 30 pounds and I'm crazy proud of myself. Big thanks go out to my JJJ girls for keeping me motivated.


• Add and Aiden started school a couple weeks ago and they are loving it. I'd never imagine they'd get so much homework in first grade and kindergarten, but they don't seem to mind.


• For Labor Day Weekend, we took the kids to Spring Mill State Park to have a fun day. We went to the Gus Grissom(astronaut)Memorial and nature center, had a picnic, played at the park, played in the creek, and walked through the old Pioneer Village where the early settlers of the area lived. I think the kids' favorite part was playing in the creek. It is a creek that runs out of the caves so the water was freezing cold, but they didn't seem to mind. I felt like my feet were gonna freeze and fall off for the first few minutes, but then I got used to it. Ellianna made a new friend while playing in the creek. His mom said he will be 2 years old next month. I guess she likes the older boys. He was sharing his water cups with her. I guess she wanted to tell him thank you, so she gave him a big wet kiss right on the lips. I dunno if he didn't like it, or if he was just playing around with her, but a minute later he dumped his water cup right on her head. She didn't care, but his mom freaked out about it. They played together for about 15 minutes and she cried when he had to leave. It was so sweet. By the time we left, we were all totally exhausted and the kids slept the whole way home. It was fun for me to bring my kids to Spring Mill State Park because I went there atleast twice a year when I was a kid. I'm hoping they'll grow up to love it as much as I always did. T-Ball champs!!!

Well, the season was over a while ago but I forgot to post this. My son's team remained undefeated and won the championship. We're so proud of him. Here's a pic of his team after they got their trophies. My son is in the back row, second from the left.

My little cheerleader boy

I was busy doing dishes this afternoon and I hear my oldest daughter say "Hey! Look Mommy!" I turn around to find my precious little boy dressed up in her Barbie cheerleader outfit. He was fine with it until I grabbed my camera and then he got all embarrassed. It was too cute not to share. This was him whining "MOMMMM" when I got the camera out.

Fart Bubbles

I totally forgot to tell everyone about this. I posted the pic on BBC but not on here. Ellianna was swimming in her little pool while the big kids were playing on the slip-n-slide. She farts a couple times, and by the second fart she's trying to figure out where the bubbles are coming from. She lifted up her leg and was looking down trying to figure it out. It was hilarious! The other kids had to run over and find out what was going on because I was laughing so hard. I'm sure this'll be an embarrasing picture for her when she gets older.

Big boy and his baby bear!

Here is a pic I just had to share of Ethan with his bear that he calls his "baby". He got his "baby" around the time my belly started getting big with my last pregnancy and he has slept with it every night since. It is a little brown teddy bear dressed up in a pumpkin outfit. I just recently started trying out black and white pics. I love pictures of sleeping kids!!!

Catch up again

Thanks to my faithful reader Pauline for reminding me to update this crazy thing!

Oh gosh... let's see what we have been up to. Warning: These are not in order. I'm just going through my photobucket!

1. We were flooded out of our house for about a week. Our house didn't get any water in it, but our road was completely covered. We've lived here long enough to know when the water is getting too high and we left early enough not to get stuck here. I'm so thankful that my grandma has enough room for the 6 of us to stay! Here is a pic of the sky before it started storming again!!! We were already flooded out and then the next day it rained again.

2. My neice had her 9th birthday party. It was a luau theme and the kids loved it. Here is a pic of Aiden doing the limbo. He was making the funniest faces.



3. We drove down to the river a couple miles from where I live to check out the water levels before we got totally flooded and there was a cool face carved into a tree stump. Ethan just had to have his picture taken with it. He asked me if he could touch his nose. It was so funny.



4. We went to a local event called "Safe Night". It is basically an event they have for kids to teach them about being drug-free and things like that. They had a lot of fun games and things for the kids to do. They even had an area that had live baby bunnies, chicks, and ducks for the kids to hold. My boys really didn't want to hold any, but Addy loved holding them. Especially the baby ducky! She was begging to take one home, but thankfully the lady said that they are only for playing with there. She must have kids of her own. She saved me from having to tell her no and breaking her heart.




5. Ellianna has been doing great with her potty training. After her bath today, I actually let her run around the house in just panties. She just turned one year old this month so she didn't actually have any of her own to wear, but big sister's worked just fine. It's crazy that the same pair of panties will fit a 6 yr old and a 1 yr old. She was so proud of her big girl panties and kept going over to the mirror to check it out.



6. My son's team won their final t-ball game of the season last night. They are undefeated!! WOO HOO! They start the tournament next week. I hope they win the tournament too. He scored 2 runs last night and was so proud of himself. The final score was 20-10.

I'm sure there is more that has been happening, but I haven't uploaded the pics yet. I guess I'll just have to update again soon. Well, for all of you that have stuck it out and read this whole post, please leave me a comment so I know I'm not just talking to myself.

Ellie's party

I know I'm late in posting this because Ellie's birthday was a few days ago, but we've been having horrible weather and I've been really busy. Anyways...

Ellie's party went great. She was a little shy at first because she's not used to so many people being at our house all at once. There were 18 total including our 6. Me, DH and our four kids, Both my parents, my grandma, my aunt, my cousin and her two kids(9yo + 7yo), my BIL and his 2 kids(6yo +5yo), my other 2 cousins who are 8 and 4. We all basically just hung out for a while and snacked on finger foods while watching the slideshow I made of her first year. Then she opened presents. My Dad was totally clueless as to what to get her so I helped him pick. He got her a soft Dora chair which she absolutely loved and sat in to open the rest of her presents. Her favorite presents from me and DH was her own baby laptop computer and a Sesame Street remote control. She always wants to play with mine, so we got her one for herself. Atleast now she can slobber on her remote instead of mine.


After presents we moved on to cake and ice cream. I bought her cake at Walmart and they gave us a free small cake for her to destroy. She played in her cake for about 20 minutes or so and ended up with icing in her eye so I had to give her a bath. While I was washing her hair to get the blue icing out, I noticed her rubbing her belly. I watched her a little more closely and figured out that she was wiping the icing off her belly and eating it. Poor girl didn't wanna waste any I guess.


After her bath, she played with her new toys for a little while and walked around visiting everyone. She started getting cranky so I put her down for a nap. She passed out hard and fast!!!


My two nephews ended up spending the night as well, which was more for my older kids to enjoy.

It was an exhausting day, but I'm glad she had a great time. Definitely made some awesome memories and took some great pictures. I will never forgot my baby girl's special day!

Birthday Ideas

Ellianna's first birthday is in a couple weeks, so I've started getting things ready. We are probably just going to have a small family barbecue at our house and do cake and ice cream, gifts, etc. Here are some of my ideas so far... I made her a pink and white tutu that she is going to wear with a pink Gymboree "Birthday Girl" shirt that has a cupcake on it. Here is a pic of the tutu. She is wearing it over pj's in this pic though.

Another idea I had is that I bought a blank wooden picture frame from Michael's craft store. It has about a 2 1/2inch border all around it. I also got a sheet of scrapbooking stickers that say "1st birthday" and that sort of thing and some fine point Sharpie markers. I'm gonna put some of the stickers on the frame and then at her party let everyone sign it or write her a special little message with the sharpies and then after I develop the pictures from her birthday I'll put a picture of her in the frame. I thought it would be a neat little memory for her to have and to look at when she gets older. After I get it all done I'll post a pic of it. Hopefully the final product turns out as good as it is in my head.

I plan on making the theme for her party "Pink and purple". I didn't wanna have a cartoon character or anything because she really is too young to like cartoons. And it'll save me money on supplies and things. I can just buy solid pink and purple plates and other supplies. I don't know yet if I wanna do a pink and purple cake or get pink and purple cupcakes. I'm running out of time.. I better hurry up and decide.

Okay.. I know it's been forever since I posted on here. First off I'll post about things from this week and then work backwards when I get time.

We had an appointment in Indianapolis today near Monument Circle and got there really early so we decided to explore. Here's a pic from inside the Monument looking towards the Statehouse. The pic looks blurry because the window inside the tower is pretty crappy.



And here is the best part of our day, while we were driving home we got stopped at a stoplight and my husband started laughing. I asked what was so funny and he pointed at this car next to us.


Somehow she was driving down the highway with her keys in the trunk lock. After we stopped laughing, I pulled up next to her and my husband tried using hand motions to let her know about the keys. She must have thought we were psychos because she got this freaked out look on her face and started dialing her phone. I hope the keys didn't end up falling out on the road somewhere.

Our First Snowman-

Yesterday, my kids decided they wanted a snowman. My husband started making the ball for the bottom. Notice the leaves mixed in with the snow because we were a little lazy in raking this past fall.

While my husband and Aiden were working on the first ball, Adalaide and I worked on the middle one. By the time we got it rolled over to the first one, I realized how heavy it was gonna be. I bet it weighed atleast 100 pounds, maybe more. It took both me and my husband to lift it. While we were packing snow in between the two parts, Aiden made the head on his own. I was so proud. I still don't know how it ended up with a pointed head though. So, after assembling all the parts I asked the kids how we were gonna decorate it. They decided that we should use play-doh for the face. I found some play-doh to use and my genious mind decided to use a piece of sidewalk chalk for the nose. I made the eyes and mouth and tried to stick it on the face. I guess I completely forgot about the properties of play-doh and snow. Play-doh doesn't stick to snow. So my husband went inside and got some toothpicks to hold it on and it actually worked. The kids found a pink scarf for it too and asked me to put the Play-doh can on his head for a hat. After posing for what seemed like 50 pictures we were done.

Atleast I thought we were done. Then the kids decided we needed a "Hawaii snowman" for their grandma who lives in Hawaii. I ran inside and found a shirt to dress him up. Doesn't his blue Hawaiian shirt match perfectly with the pink scarf??? Finally done!!!!

Later in the day, it warmed up a little and the snowman started to melt some. The eyes and mouth fell off to be later eaten by the neighbor's dog who returned today to leave some nice decorative blue doggy poop right beside my van.

Lesson learned: Play-doh will not stick to snow no matter how crafty you are with toothpicks.

When kids dress themselves...

This is what happens when you let two little girls play dress up with a little boy ... no pants, pink cowgirl boots, a pink bicycle helmet, and a toy guitar!!

Poopy-flavored Ice Cream

Today after kindergarten pickup, we drove through an ice cream shop to pick up some greasy, unhealthy, yummy lunch and ice cream. I bought an assortment of things for us to share.
Here is what we got:
1 Foot-long hot dog
1 Order of chicken strips
1 Taco Salad
1 Tenderloin sandwich w/lettuce and cheddar cheese
1 Pint of homemade cookie dough ice cream
#1, #2, and #3 yelling through the order window "I want poopy-flavored ice cream" (The voice in the box actually played along and said "Sorry, we are all out of that kind") which the kids thought was totally hilarious

So anyways, when the drive-through lady handed me the food, I checked to make sure everything was there and pulled off. After I got about a block down the road,#2 somehow leaned down and grabbed the bag off the floor of our van. Next thing I know, he is screaming "But I wanted my own cup of ice cream" I tried explaining that it was cheaper to buy it by the pint instead of singles, which had no effect whatsoever on him. 15 minutes later we get home, get all 4 kids inside and at the table. He finally calms down because I give in and let him have a drink of my Big Red. I should've known better about the Big Red because about 2 seconds later he spills it on his white shirt and I take it away. He then tells me once again "You are the meanest mommy ever and I'm telling Daddy when he gets home!"

First Post

Okay, so this is my first time posting to a blog. I used to do LiveJournal back in college but that seems like forever ago. I'll warn you now, anyone who ends up reading this, it probably won't be funny or entertaining. I'm just starting this up to really give me a way to keep track of things and remember things. I decided to start blogging after reading Kira's blog. Hers is great and I'm sure mine will never be anywhere near as good or funny as hers. Thanks Kira for the inspiration to start a blog.
